Java, C, and C++ remain the most popular programming languages in the world, according to the Tiobe Index<\/strong><\/a> for April 2018.<\/p>\n

Other popular languages include Python, C#, and Visual Basic, according to the rankings.<\/p>\n

Both Objective-C and Perl have fallen substantially in the Tiobe rankings year-on-year, however, with the former being replaced by Swift and the latter lacking a clear future.<\/p>\n

The PYPL rankings<\/strong><\/a> also showed Java at the top of its list, followed by Python and JavaScript.<\/p>\n

The top 10 programming languages for April 2018, according to the Tiobe Index and PYPL rankings, are detailed below.<\/p>\n

Calculating the rankings<\/h3>\n

PYPL \u2013<\/strong> The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.<\/p>\n

Tiobe \u2013<\/strong> The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.<\/p>\n
