Apple today introduced iCloud – free cloud services that work with applications on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.<\/p>\n

Through iCloud users can automatically and wirelessly store their content in iCloud and push it to all their devices.<\/p>\n

When anything changes on one of their devices, all of your devices are wirelessly updated automatically.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday it is a real hassle and very frustrating to keep all your information and content up-to-date across all your devices,\u201d said Steve Jobs, Apple\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n

\u201ciCloud keeps your important information and content up to date across all your devices. All of this happens automatically and wirelessly, and because it\u2019s integrated into our apps you don\u2019t even need to think about it\u2014it all just works.\u201d<\/p>\n

The free iCloud services include the former MobileMe services, the App Store and iBookstore, iCloud Backup, iCloud Storage and iCloud\u2019s Photo Stream service.<\/p>\n

The iCloud beta and Cloud Storage APIs are available immediately to iOS and Mac Developer Program members. iCloud will be available this fall concurrent with iOS 5. Users can sign up for iCloud for free on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 5 or a Mac running Mac OS X Lion with a valid Apple ID.<\/p>\n

iCloud includes 5GB of free cloud storage for Mail, Document Storage and Backup. Purchased music, apps, books and Photo Stream do not count against the storage limit.<\/p>\n

iTunes Match, a service that matches a user’s music not purchased through iTunes to the iTunes library and replaces it with a 256 kbps AAC DRM-free version with iCloud benefits\u00a0will be available for $24.99 per year in the US only.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
