{"id":259325,"date":"2018-05-08T20:57:40","date_gmt":"2018-05-08T18:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=259325"},"modified":"2018-05-08T21:00:34","modified_gmt":"2018-05-08T19:00:34","slug":"big-changes-coming-to-google-assistant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/259325-big-changes-coming-to-google-assistant.html","title":{"rendered":"Big changes coming to Google Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has announced that a number of new features for its Google Assistant will launch in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The company showcased the new features for its digital assistant at its I\/O event in California.<\/p>\n<p>Google announced that six new voices would be available for Assistant thanks to breakthrough WaveNet technology from its DeepMind team.<\/p>\n<p>The company has also enlisted the voice of singer John Legend as an Assistant option for certain contexts.<\/p>\n<p>Global support for Google Assistant is also expanding, and the digital assistant will be available in 30 languages and 80 countries before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3YQJOHqkhgM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Conversation<\/h3>\n<p>Google Assistant will soon support the ability to have a natural conversation, meaning you will no longer need to begin every query with &#8220;Hey Google&#8221; &#8211; as long as your next query follows from your previous one.<\/p>\n<p>This conversation feature will roll out in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The company has also improved the assistant&#8217;s capabilities for understanding and completing multiple actions from a single query, even when delivered in complex sentence structures.<\/p>\n<p>As Google Assistant is often accessed by children through Google Home and other devices, Google has addressed worries that kids are becoming too demanding of digital assistants.<\/p>\n<p>A new feature named &#8220;Pretty Please&#8221;
