{"id":261077,"date":"2018-05-22T17:21:41","date_gmt":"2018-05-22T15:21:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=261077"},"modified":"2018-05-22T17:23:15","modified_gmt":"2018-05-22T15:23:15","slug":"5g-standard-finalised-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/261077-5g-standard-finalised-this-week.html","title":{"rendered":"5G standard finalised this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Samsung announced it is hosting\u00a0the final meeting of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) working groups to complete the 5G wireless standard.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting is being held in Busan, South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>The company said it expects about 1,500 standards experts from chipset, handset, and equipment vendors &#8211; including Samsung and Qualcomm.<\/p>\n<p>It also expects attendees from major mobile operators such as Verizon, AT&amp;T, NTT DoCoMo, KT, and SK Telecom.<\/p>\n<p>At the meeting, all working groups which develop 5G wireless technology assemble to confirm the final technologies for 5G commercialisation.<\/p>\n<p>This includes 5G technology providing ultra-high speed data and ultra-low latency, and the conformance testing method for 5G terminals.<\/p>\n<p>The 3GPP first approved the 5G Non-Standalone standard in December 2017.
