{"id":264417,"date":"2018-06-14T10:11:01","date_gmt":"2018-06-14T08:11:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=264417"},"modified":"2018-06-14T10:12:48","modified_gmt":"2018-06-14T08:12:48","slug":"twitter-updates-topics-and-search","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/264417-twitter-updates-topics-and-search.html","title":{"rendered":"Twitter updates topics and search"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter has made several changes to how users follow discussions about their interests and breaking news, it announced in a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/official\/en_us\/topics\/product\/2018\/see_whats_happening.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The company said it is experimenting with topic tabs in Explore, following requests that it should be easier to navigate if topics were organised better.<\/p>\n<p>These topic tabs will make it easier to see what&#8217;s happening in news and entertainment segments, and what\u2019s most relevant to a user.<\/p>\n<p>The feature will be available in the coming months to iOS and Android users in the US.<\/p>\n<p>A change that will be implemented immediately and be more widely available, however, is an update to search.<\/p>\n<p>The update will show\u00a0related news, events, or stories at the top of search results. Users will be able to tap to get a recap and see the latest discussion and videos are.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter is also expanding &#8220;Happening now&#8221; at the top of timelines to include Tweets about breaking and personalised news.
