{"id":269417,"date":"2018-07-24T09:11:55","date_gmt":"2018-07-24T07:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=269417"},"modified":"2018-07-24T11:46:33","modified_gmt":"2018-07-24T09:46:33","slug":"netflix-mocks-dstv-with-installation-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/269417-netflix-mocks-dstv-with-installation-video.html","title":{"rendered":"Netflix mocks DStv with &#8220;installation&#8221; video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Netflix South Africa has taken a swipe at MultiChoice&#8217;s DStv with a parody &#8220;Netflix installation&#8221; video.<\/p>\n<p>The video, posted below, shows a Netflix installation agent going to people&#8217;s homes and installing Netflix for them.<\/p>\n<p>The video is clearly aimed at DStv, which requires users to have a satellite dish and linked decoder installed in their homes to access the satellite TV service.<\/p>\n<p>DStv installations are typically done by approved agents &#8211; and Netflix has referenced this with their &#8220;Man in a Van&#8221; character installing Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>As Netflix is an Internet steaming service which can be accessed via an app or web browser, there is no need for a physical installation.<\/p>\n<p>The video ends with the text &#8220;Get Netflix yourself.
