Store-It: free cloud storage service launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MWEB today (23 June 2011) announced the launch of its cloud based file hosting service, Store-It. \u00a0Store-It allows users to store and access files online using cloud computing.<\/p>\n<p>The service is an extension of MWEB\u2019s range of cloud services to the consumer market.<\/p>\n<p>Store-It, which will be offered as a value add to all MWEB customers, is an alternative solution to using hardware such as flash drives or external hard drives to store and save files.<\/p>\n<p>A 5 GB Store-It product will be offered free to MWEB\u2019s customers with the 45GB and 95GB upgrade options retailing at R70 and R140 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will allow users to securely store documents such as their wills, copies of their identification documents as well as almost 100 000 photographs or more than 1200 MP3s,\u201d said <a title=\"Nathier Kasu\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/344807-Nathier-Kasu\">Nathier Kasu<\/a>, Head of Digital at MWEB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll data is stored locally allowing faster and more efficient Store-It:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Users are able to store and access files online from any internet-enabled device, from any location<\/li>\n<li>One will be able to share documents between more than one location (i.e. work and home)<\/li>\n<li>It can be accessed by using an existing MWEB username, password \u2013 no additional credentials need to be remembered.<\/li>\n<li>It is browser-based so no additional software needs to be installed<\/li>\n<li>Customer will be able to get support via current MWEB support channels<\/li>\n<li>Users  are able to manage their storage themselves<\/li>\n<li>The files are stored locally on MWEB servers so that upload and download speed are maximised.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MWEB
