{"id":274751,"date":"2018-09-09T07:20:13","date_gmt":"2018-09-09T05:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=274751"},"modified":"2018-09-09T07:23:30","modified_gmt":"2018-09-09T05:23:30","slug":"multichoice-considering-job-cuts-as-dstv-struggles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/274751-multichoice-considering-job-cuts-as-dstv-struggles.html","title":{"rendered":"MultiChoice considering job cuts as DStv struggles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MultiChoice is considering job cuts in an attempt to deal with the effects of increased competition.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesslive.co.za\/bt\/business-and-economy\/2018-09-08-jobs-on-the-line-as-dstv-struggles\/?&amp;external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Sunday Times<\/strong><\/a>, the company has asked many employees to\u00a0reapply for their positions.<\/p>\n<p>Up to 200 jobs could be affected, according to a source.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are creating a leaner and more agile organisation in order to remain globally competitive,&#8221; said a MultiChoice spokesperson to the publication.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes at a time when DStv &#8211; particularly its Premium satellite service &#8211; is under pressure, due to declining subscriber numbers.
