{"id":27557,"date":"2011-06-24T12:14:19","date_gmt":"2011-06-24T10:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=27557"},"modified":"2011-06-24T12:17:49","modified_gmt":"2011-06-24T10:17:49","slug":"dstv-drifta-android-blackberry-apps-the-wait-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/27557-dstv-drifta-android-blackberry-apps-the-wait-continues.html","title":{"rendered":"DStv Drifta Android, BlackBerry apps: the wait continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DStv Mobile customers that banked on the DStv Drifta mobile decoder supporting smartphone platforms other than Apple\u2019s iOS are still waiting for the applications to be released.<\/p>\n<p>When MultiChoice launched the new <a title=\"DVB-H\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/16779-dstv-mobile-at-r36-per-month.html\">service based on the DVB-H<\/a> (Digital Video Broadcasting &#8211; Handheld) standard, their mobile decoder (Drifta) supported Mac and Windows PC as well as iOS devices such as the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.<\/p>\n<p>They also promised support for Android, BlackBerry and Symbian^3 by April 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Symbian^3 support was delivered in a manner of speaking, but not through an application for the Drifta device.
