Afrihost today (5 July 2011) announced that they have made changes to their dedicated server hosting options which include higher traffic allowances and lower traffic overage cost.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve increased the traffic of each package massively (up to 4 times for our Platinum package) and also decreased the traffic overage cost for all dedicated servers to just R15 per extra GB,\u201d explained Afrihost CEO Gian Visser<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Visser added that Afrihost has also increased the specifications of the hardware used, which includes RAID 5 on all their Platinum servers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have no contracts, zero setup fees and you can configure your own server specifications fully. We also offer our clients Double Your Money Back guarantee,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n

The dedicated server market has become very competitive over the last year with numerous companies including Hetzner, MWEB and Web Africa battling it out for market share.<\/p>\n
