<\/strong>A website recently launched by Cell C serves as a platform where users can submit and vote for their favourite South African slang words.<\/p>\n

Other than submitting words, users can also browse a dictionary of all previous submissions, as well as subscribe to the site’s \u201cWord of the Day\u201d service. There have been 221 submissions to date.<\/p>\n

Cell C have also the offered the chance to win an F250 cellphone, Cell C \u2018welcome package\u2019, and a R50 airtime recharge voucher to the first 10 words submitted to the website.<\/p>\n

    On June 16th 1976, a group of incredibly brave young students embarked on a protest march, making their voices heard against the injustices of the time. They were fighting to learn in a language that they understood. Thanks in large part to their actions, we\u2019re now free to express ourselves using whatever words or language we choose.<\/p>\n

    Cell C is going to get the youth of South Africa talking, and celebrating their own language, and others by starting a South African Urban Dictionary, http:\/\/sastreetdictionary.co.za<\/a>. It\u2019s the platform for the youth to express themselves in a way that they understand. It also creates a way for the youth to share their words with peers of different cultures, and learn something in the process.<\/p>\n
