Softpedia News<\/strong><\/a> has reported that a Reddit user found a way to bypass WhatsApp’s Face or Touch ID security locks.<\/p>\n

These biometric security measures were introduced earlier this year, but appear to be relatively easy to ignore.<\/p>\n

Reddit user “de_X_ter” outlines the steps required to bypass Apple’s biometric security locks in a post<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>on the Apple subreddit:<\/p>\n

  1. Navigate to the iOS Share Sheet<\/li>\n
  2. Select WhatsApp<\/li>\n
  3. While moving to the next screen,\u00a0 no FaceID or Touch ID verification takes place<\/li>\n
  4. Exit to the iOS Home Screen<\/li>\n
  5. Open WhatsApp<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    “If in some cases, it [the third step] asks for FaceID or Touch ID verification, just cancel it and try clicking on the WhatsApp icon in the iOS Share Sheet again,” the user said.<\/p>\n

    “This bug does not occur if ‘Immediately’ has been set inside WhatsApp Screen Lock Settings,” the user added.<\/p>\n

    Apple responded by saying it is working on fixing this security flaw.<\/p>\n

    “We are aware of the issue and a fix will be available shortly. In the meantime, we recommend that people set the screen lock option to \u2018immediately,'” said Apple.<\/p>\n
