{"id":305592,"date":"2019-05-09T18:59:27","date_gmt":"2019-05-09T16:59:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=305592"},"modified":"2019-05-09T19:00:42","modified_gmt":"2019-05-09T17:00:42","slug":"mtn-launches-1mb-auto-renewing-data-bundle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/305592-mtn-launches-1mb-auto-renewing-data-bundle.html","title":{"rendered":"MTN launches 1MB auto-renewing data bundle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MTN has launched an auto-renewing data bundle similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/304278-vodacoms-data-refill-the-real-price.html\"><strong>Vodacom\u2019s Data Refill service<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The mobile network operator has <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/forum\/threads\/mtn-airtime-skulduggery.1026834\/\"><strong>sent a message<\/strong><\/a> to subscribers to inform them that they will be automatically subscribed to the service next month:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cY\u2019ello! From 7 June, when your Data runs out, you will stay connected with MTN\u2019s auto-renew 1MB bundle at 40c. Keep a positive airtime balance or Usage limit.TCs\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When queried about this message, MTN told MyBroadband that it plans to begin rolling out this new feature to prepaid subscribers from 16 May and to postpaid clients from 7 June.<\/p>\n<p>It will be applied to all customers who have not selected to opt out of out-of-bundle billing (OOB).<\/p>\n<p>MTN explained that subscribers will have to dial *135*6# to opt out of this new auto-renewing bundle on 16 May if they are on prepaid, and 7 June if they are on contract.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf customers dial *135*6# now, they will only be given the choice to opt-in to OOB,\u201d MTN said. That is, unless they have opted in to OOB data usage already.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This means that customers will have the option to opt in and opt out as they choose, at any time.
