{"id":306438,"date":"2019-05-16T12:12:43","date_gmt":"2019-05-16T10:12:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=306438"},"modified":"2019-05-17T09:36:15","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T07:36:15","slug":"vodacom-provides-new-cybersecurity-solution-to-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/306438-vodacom-provides-new-cybersecurity-solution-to-users.html","title":{"rendered":"Vodacom provides new cybersecurity solution to users"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom Business announced that it has partnered with BlackFog to provide a new cybersecurity and privacy solution to customers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;BlackFog is an on-device solution that blocks outbound data in real-time, preventing cyber-attacks before they happen,&#8221; said BlackFog VP for global marketing Brenda Robb.<\/p>\n<p>Robb added that BlackFog offers 12 layers of defense against malicious threats including ransomware, spyware, malware, phishing, unauthorized data collection and profiling.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;BlackFog spots attackers in real-time, as soon as an attacker attempts to remove unauthorized data from the device, BlackFog shuts them down before they get the chance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This includes the following security measures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blocking online advertising.<\/li>\n<li>Blocking data transfer to the dark web.<\/li>\n<li>Preventing phishing attacks.<\/li>\n<li>Blocking social networks, including Facebook, from collecting personal data.<\/li>\n<li>Preventing hackers activating the microphone or camera.<\/li>\n<li>Protecting against identity theft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;BlackFog\u2019s unique approach to cybersecurity and data loss using outbound data protection was an important part of the decision process,&#8221; said Vodacom executive head for cyber security Sunjay Ramessur.<\/p>\n<p>During the initial rollout of the security solution, BlackFog will be sold via the Vodacom account management channel.
