{"id":3082,"date":"2008-03-05T23:31:00","date_gmt":"2008-03-05T21:31:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-03-05T23:31:00","modified_gmt":"2008-03-05T21:31:00","slug":"is-telkom-breaking-the-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/3082-is-telkom-breaking-the-law.html","title":{"rendered":"Is Telkom breaking the law?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ICASA published its ADSL Regulations in August 2006, calling for &ndash; amoung other things &ndash; the installation of an ADSL service within 30 working days.<\/p>\n<p>Recent reports emerged that Telkom informs new ADSL applicants that their lines will be installed within 6 to 8 weeks. This information was tested by calling Telkom and requesting a new ADSL installation, and Telkom did indeed give an install date of between 6 and 8 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The installation date given by Telkom translates into 30 to 40 working days &ndash; clearly in contravention of ICASA&rsquo;s ADSL Regulations.<\/p>\n<p>This may however not be the only regulation which Telkom is in contravention of.
