{"id":31164,"date":"2011-08-08T10:21:03","date_gmt":"2011-08-08T08:21:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=31164"},"modified":"2011-08-08T10:59:53","modified_gmt":"2011-08-08T08:59:53","slug":"icasa-postpones-carrier-pre-selection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/31164-icasa-postpones-carrier-pre-selection.html","title":{"rendered":"ICASA postpones Carrier Pre-Selection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"ICASA\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226385-ICASA\">Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)<\/a> announced today (8 August 2011) that they have extended the implementation timeline for Carrier Pre-Selection (CPS) Phase 1 to 30 November 2011.<\/p>\n<p>ICASA published Carrier Pre-Selection (CPS) Regulations on 27 September 2010, aiming to establish a framework in terms of which subscribers of an electronic communications service (ECS) licensee can access the services of another ECS licensee on a call by call basis by adding an access code to the front of a dialled number.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Authority has since engaged with industry on progress of CPS Phase 1 implementation.
