{"id":313917,"date":"2019-07-19T09:45:53","date_gmt":"2019-07-19T07:45:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=313917"},"modified":"2019-07-19T09:47:58","modified_gmt":"2019-07-19T07:47:58","slug":"slack-to-reset-passwords-four-years-after-hack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/313917-slack-to-reset-passwords-four-years-after-hack.html","title":{"rendered":"Slack to reset passwords four years after hack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Slack has <a href=\"https:\/\/slackhq.com\/new-information-2015-incident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>announced<\/strong><\/a> that it will reset the passwords of approximately 1% of all accounts after it discovered new information about a 2015 security incident.<\/p>\n<p>Resets will happen to accounts that were created before March 2015, have not changed their password since the incident, and do not log in via a single-sign-on (SSO) provider.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have no reason to believe that any of these accounts were compromised, but we believe that this precaution is worth any inconvenience the reset may cause,&#8221; said Slack.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, Slack infrastructure was breached by numerous hackers.
