{"id":315283,"date":"2019-08-02T09:12:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-02T07:12:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=315283"},"modified":"2019-08-02T09:13:18","modified_gmt":"2019-08-02T07:13:18","slug":"intel-unveils-10th-generation-laptop-processors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/315283-intel-unveils-10th-generation-laptop-processors.html","title":{"rendered":"Intel unveils 10th-generation laptop processors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Intel has <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.intel.com\/news-releases\/2019-computex-intel-disclosures\/?spredfast-trk-id=sf216777992#gs.tdkjxu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>launched<\/strong><\/a> its new lineup of 10th-generation Ice Lake processors for laptops.<\/p>\n<p>The range consists of 11 new processors &#8211; from the entry-level, dual-core i3-1000G1 to a powerful quad-core i7-1068G7.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, the processors have been lumped into two categories &#8211; the less power-intensive Y-series and the more powerful U-series.<\/p>\n<p>These processors are designed to enable high-performance AI, with Intel claiming a 2.5-times increase to performance in this area.<\/p>\n<p>They will also boast new Intel Iris Plus graphics, which will reportedly offer double the performance of previous-generation integrated graphics.<\/p>\n<p>Another feature highlighted by Intel is its &#8220;Best-in-class connectivity&#8221; that is able to deliver both integrated Thunderbolt 3 and Intel Wi-Fi 6 &#8211; which Intel claims will enable nearly three-times the current wireless speeds.<\/p>\n<p>These processors have now begun shipping to notebook manufacturers.
