{"id":318617,"date":"2019-09-04T07:50:49","date_gmt":"2019-09-04T05:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=318617"},"modified":"2019-09-04T07:51:57","modified_gmt":"2019-09-04T05:51:57","slug":"usb-4-40gbps-transfer-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/318617-usb-4-40gbps-transfer-rates.html","title":{"rendered":"USB 4 &#8211; 40Gbps transfer rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/usb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>USB Implementers Forum<\/strong><\/a> has finalised the technical standards for USB 4.<\/p>\n<p>The specifications for USB 4 have been shared with the industry, and USB 4 ports are expected to start appearing in devices in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The USB4 architecture is based on the Thunderbolt protocol specification recently contributed by Intel Corporation to the USB Promoter Group,&#8221; said the Forum.<\/p>\n<p>USB 4 will increase transfer speeds compared to USB 3.0, and use the USB-C physical interface.
