{"id":32260,"date":"2011-08-23T11:58:57","date_gmt":"2011-08-23T09:58:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=32260"},"modified":"2011-08-23T12:02:01","modified_gmt":"2011-08-23T10:02:01","slug":"new-free-sms-website-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/32260-new-free-sms-website-launched.html","title":{"rendered":"New free SMS website launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KujoSMS, a new free SMS website, recently launched in South Africa offering registered users 20 free SMSes per day.<\/p>\n<p>The platform is advertised as being \u201c80% beta\u201d, accessible across browsers and via mobile devices, and able to handle single or bulk SMS sending.<\/p>\n<p>Karabo Phungula, CEO and founder of the website, said that they intend to run the service on an ad-supported model.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsors will be able to include an advertisement at the end of SMSes that go out as well as send out marketing messages to the KujoSMS database of users that opted in to receiving SMSes from sponsors, Phungula said.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">KujoSMS tested<\/h3>\n<p>We took the service for a spin to see how it performed and it has a decent amount of features for a service flagged as beta.<\/p>\n<p>Registration was painless, though some may be put off by the fact that Kujo doesn\u2019t use HTTPS to secure the registration or transmission of login credentials.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve registered a user name, KujoSMS sends a one time PIN (OTP) to the cellular number provided during registration which you use to log in.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the basic SMS sending features, Kujo includes a contacts list where you can add numbers one by one, or import them from a text file using CSV format.
