Maps adds incident reports to iOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>iPhone users will soon be able to report road accidents and other incidents in Google Maps.<\/p>\n<p>Google is rolling out <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.google\/products\/maps\/new-ways-report-driving-incidents-google-maps\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FMKuf+%28The+Keyword+%7C+Official+Google+Blog%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">updates<\/a><\/strong> this week which will bring the feature to iOS.<\/p>\n<p>The company first tested the ability to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/283786-google-maps-testing-collision-and-speed-trap-reports.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report collisions and speed traps<\/a><\/strong> on Android devices late in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The feature was gradually rolled out to Android users in various countries this year, while South African Google Maps users have been able to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/motoring\/308106-google-maps-will-now-warn-you-about-speed-traps-in-south-africa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report speed traps<\/a><\/strong> from within the app since June.<\/p>\n<p>Google also added a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/309205-google-maps-now-tracks-your-speed-in-real-time.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">live speedometer<\/a><\/strong> to the Maps navigation interface in the same month.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Incident reports on iOS<\/h3>\n<p>The incident report system on iOS will function in the same way as on Android devices.<\/p>\n<p>The gif below illustrates how the feature will work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-323878 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ezgif_4_79b571336615.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\"><strong>New report types<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Google also announced that it is adding several new report types which will be available to both Android and iOS users.<\/p>\n<p>Android Maps users are currently able to report incidents like traffic congestion, accidents, mobile speed cameras and roadworks.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these incidents, users on both Android and iOS will also be able to report construction, lane closures, disabled vehicles and objects on the road.<\/p>\n<p>All of these categories have been available for some time in Google&#8217;s other navigation app, Waze.<\/p>\n<h3
