{"id":324993,"date":"2019-10-28T09:01:38","date_gmt":"2019-10-28T07:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=324993"},"modified":"2019-10-28T09:03:58","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T07:03:58","slug":"ios-13-causes-battery-issues-for-iphone-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/smartphones\/324993-ios-13-causes-battery-issues-for-iphone-users.html","title":{"rendered":"iOS 13 causes battery issues for iPhone users"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple users are complaining that iOS 13 is draining their battery in just a few hours, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-7614097\/New-Apple-iOS-13-KILLING-batteries-iPhone-owners-battery-life-drains-quickly.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Daily Mail<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Apple iOS 13.1.3 update is killing my iPhone 7 plus battery. Getting 70% battery drain in 2 hrs,&#8221; said one user.<\/p>\n<p>The user, along with many others, has also claimed that their iPhone is heating up abnormally, and is lagging as a result.<\/p>\n<p>This issue does not appear to be limited to older iPhones such as the iPhone 7 &#8211;\u00a0 it has been reported that this issue affects all iPhones that support iOS 13.<\/p>\n<p>The problem also has not been fixed in newly- patched versions of the operating system, with users who have upgraded to the latest 13.1.3 version of the OS still complaining about the issue.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">iOS issues<\/h3>\n<p>Just six days after the launch of iOS 13, Apple released its first major update for the operating system &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/321091-apple-launches-ios-13-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>iOS 13.1<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This update was nearly a week ahead of schedule, and addressed a <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/320115-ios-13-security-flaw-exposes-your-contacts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>bug<\/strong><\/a> that allowed attackers to bypass the lock screen of iPhones.<\/p>\n<p>It also addressed other bugs and added several features that were not ready to be launched in the initial roll-out of iOS 13.<\/p>\n<p>These included Automations within Shortcuts and Share ETA &#8211; which allows users to share their estimated time of arrival with their friends and contacts.<\/p>\n<p>Apple has since released two further patches &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/321714-apple-releases-ios-and-ipados-13-1-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>13.1.2<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2019\/10\/15\/ios-13-1-3-is-the-latest-software-update-from-apple-to-fix-iphone-and-ipad-bugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>13.1.3<\/strong><\/a>, which address more bugs found within iOS 13.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Now read: <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/government\/324979-eskom-could-cause-moodys-to-downgrade-south-africa.html\" rel=\"bookmark\">Eskom could cause Moody\u2019s to downgrade South Africa<\/a><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple users are complaining that iOS 13 is draining their battery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":341039,"featured_media":320357,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_sma_x_autopost_status":"idle","_sma_x_autopost_error":"","_sma_x_post_id":"","_sma_facebook_post_id":"","_sma_instagram_post_id":"","_sma_threads_post_id":"","_sma_x_attempts":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[17934],"tags":[605,58590,61565,1125],"class_list":["post-324993","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-smartphones","tag-apple","tag-ios-13","tag-ios-13-1-3","tag-iphone"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/324993"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/341039"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=324993"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/324993\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":325001,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/324993\/revisions\/325001"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/320357"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=324993"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=324993"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=324993"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
