{"id":325767,"date":"2019-11-01T09:43:55","date_gmt":"2019-11-01T07:43:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=325767"},"modified":"2019-11-01T09:45:29","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T07:45:29","slug":"whatsapp-working-on-two-dark-modes-for-ios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/325767-whatsapp-working-on-two-dark-modes-for-ios.html","title":{"rendered":"WhatsApp working on two dark modes for iOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WhatsApp is developing new dark themes for iOS, according to a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wabetainfo.com\/whatsapp-to-develop-2-types-of-dark-theme-for-ios\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report from\u00a0WABetaInfo<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>WABetaInfo first revealed that WhatsApp was working on a dark mode for iOS in October 2018.<\/p>\n<p>iPhone and iPad users received a dark mode feature for iOS on 19 September, which reportedly may have prompted WhatsApp to redesign the unreleased feature.<\/p>\n<p>The reworked themes are available in a preview version of WhatsApp for iOS.<\/p>\n<p>One dark theme configuration uses deep black colours for the backgrounds of tables and cells. The second option uses slightly lighter shades, resulting in a grey tone.<\/p>\n<p>Another rumoured third option has not been implemented yet.<\/p>\n<p>For chat bubbles, both of the configurations will use the same dark grey shade for incoming messages and dark green for outgoing texts.<\/p>\n<p>According to WABetaInfo, it is not clear if users will be able to select a preferred configuration once WhatsApp rolls out the update, or if only one of the configurations would be applied, but it is likely that a single configuration will be available.<\/p>\n<p>WhatsApp has not announced a launch date for its dark mode update.
