{"id":33552,"date":"2011-09-09T09:45:17","date_gmt":"2011-09-09T07:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=33552"},"modified":"2011-09-09T09:47:12","modified_gmt":"2011-09-09T07:47:12","slug":"intel-not-considering-meego-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/33552-intel-not-considering-meego-sale.html","title":{"rendered":"Intel not considering MeeGo sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Responding to rumours that <a title=\"Samsung\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/333656-Samsung\">Samsung<\/a> has expressed interest in purchasing the <a title=\"MeeGo\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/364320-MeeGo\">MeeGo<\/a> operating system, a representative from <a title=\"Intel\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307489-Intel\">Intel<\/a> has stated that the company remains committed to the OS.<\/p>\n<p>Doug Suttles, systems software division manager at Intel pointed out that the company remains committed to the Linux-based operating system, though followed by saying he could \u201conly comment on what\u2019s happening today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MeeGo was introduced in February 2010 and was seen as a merger of Intel\u2019s Moblin and <a title=\"Nokia\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314603-Nokia-Corporation\">Nokia\u2019s<\/a> Maemo operating systems.
