{"id":341663,"date":"2020-03-07T13:51:21","date_gmt":"2020-03-07T11:51:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=341663"},"modified":"2020-03-07T13:51:39","modified_gmt":"2020-03-07T11:51:39","slug":"new-covid-19-coronavirus-case-in-gauteng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/trending\/341663-new-covid-19-coronavirus-case-in-gauteng.html","title":{"rendered":"New COVID-19 coronavirus case in Gauteng"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A woman in Gauteng has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>This makes it the second confirmed case of the coronavirus in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com\/SouthAfrica\/News\/breaking-coronavirus-second-covid-19-case-diagnosed-in-sa-20200307\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>News24<\/strong><\/a> reported that a 39-year-old woman from Gauteng has been diagnosed with the virus.<\/p>\n<p>The woman is part of a group who recently travelled to Italy &#8211; the <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/trending\/341429-first-case-of-covid-19-coronavirus-in-south-africa-confirmed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>same group<\/strong><\/a> from which a man with the first confirmed case of the coronavirus in South Africa was in.<\/p>\n<p>The man with the first case was a 38-year-old who lives in KwaZulu-Natal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were part of a group of 10 people and they arrived back in South Africa on March 1, 2020,\u201d said the Department of Health earlier this week..<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe patient consulted a private general practitioner on March 3, with symptoms of fever, headache, malaise, a sore throat, and a cough.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Second case<\/h3>\n<p>The Department of Health stated that the rest of the the travel group who returned to South Africa are being tested for the coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The second patient who has now tested positive for COVID-19 will now be immediately admitted to a public health facility in Gauteng that government has identified as one of the hospitals that are ready to receive COVID-19 positive patients,&#8221; said the department.<\/p>\n<p>The department has noted a number of COVID-19 symptoms to be on the lookout for.
