{"id":346465,"date":"2020-04-06T07:00:55","date_gmt":"2020-04-06T05:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=346465"},"modified":"2020-04-06T07:01:58","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T05:01:58","slug":"watch-tesla-ventilator-prototype-made-from-car-components","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/science\/346465-watch-tesla-ventilator-prototype-made-from-car-components.html","title":{"rendered":"Watch &#8211; Tesla ventilator prototype made from car components"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tesla Inc. engineers showed footage of a prototype ventilator the company is trying to make with auto parts amid a shortage of the machines for coronavirus patients.<\/p>\n<p>According to the video on Tesla\u2019s YouTube channel, the design includes a touch screen, computer and control system from a Model 3 electric car.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla is taking advantage of components that are familiar, reliable and available, an engineer says in the video.<\/p>\n<p>New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, among those urgently trying to source more ventilators, said Sunday that supply-chain disruption is the biggest hurdle for every manufacturer, including Tesla.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir timeframe frankly doesn\u2019t work for our immediate apex,\u201c he\u00a0said\u00a0at a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody can make you a ventilator right now in two weeks.
