{"id":35758,"date":"2011-10-11T07:40:44","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T05:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=35758"},"modified":"2011-10-11T07:43:00","modified_gmt":"2011-10-11T05:43:00","slug":"nyse-website-hobbled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/35758-nyse-website-hobbled.html","title":{"rendered":"NYSE website hobbled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A company that monitors website response times says The New York Stock Exchange&#8217;s website was hobbled twice Monday, possibly the result of computer attacks.<\/p>\n<p>A San Mateo-based company called Keynote Systems Inc. says the NYSE website experienced a one-minute outage around 3:30 p.m. Eastern (1930 GMT), then a half-hour outage about two hours later.<\/p>\n<p>The loosely organized Anonymous hacking group has threatened an attack on the NYSE as part of anti-Wall Street protests.<\/p>\n<p>Some protesters have objected because of the impression the hack would leave about the movement as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>NYSE spokesman Ray Pellecchia said there was no interruption during the first time period.
