{"id":35978,"date":"2011-10-13T09:16:25","date_gmt":"2011-10-13T07:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=35978"},"modified":"2011-10-13T09:21:49","modified_gmt":"2011-10-13T07:21:49","slug":"eric-schmidt-now-on-google","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/35978-eric-schmidt-now-on-google.html","title":{"rendered":"Eric Schmidt now on Google+"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Eric Schmidt\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/360166-Eric-Schmidt\">Eric Schmidt<\/a> joins high profile <a title=\"Google\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314567-Google\">Google<\/a> employees such as <a title=\"Sergey Brin\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/372538-Sergey-Brin\">Sergey Brin<\/a> and <a title=\"Larry Page\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/366022-Larry-Page\">Larry Page<\/a> on Google+, with a newly public feed where general Google+ users can now add him to their circles and follow his public updates.<\/p>\n<p>His first public post is a link to his remembrances of <a title=\"Steve Jobs\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/340669-Steve-Jobs\">Steve Jobs<\/a> on the Charlie Rose show on CNBC, and in BusinessWeek.<\/p>\n<p>Schmidt has set a profile picture of himself that looks around 20 years old, but this hasn\u2019t stopped over 6500 people adding him to their circles already.<\/p>\n<p>Questions have been raised as to why the Google chairman has previously not used his company\u2019s own social media product, preferring other mediums such as <a title=\"Twitter\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/359584-Twitter\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One Google+ user highlighted this with his comment, \u201cIt was so strange that you do not use your own product, you do not believe it will be working? And you use twitter more often than your G+.
