{"id":360887,"date":"2020-07-22T10:16:49","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T08:16:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=360887"},"modified":"2020-07-22T10:19:13","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T08:19:13","slug":"microsoft-edge-now-lets-you-switch-between-work-and-personal-profiles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/360887-microsoft-edge-now-lets-you-switch-between-work-and-personal-profiles.html","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Edge now lets you switch between work and personal profiles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft Edge, the default browser for Windows 10, is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windowsexperience\/2020\/07\/21\/whats-new-in-microsoft-edge-july-2020-microsoft-inspire-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">getting several new features<\/a><\/strong> in its bid to take on Google Chrome.<\/p>\n<p>Included among these new features is the ability to switch between profiles when clicking on links.<\/p>\n<p>This will be an automatic process where your browser determines which of your profiles is most appropriate to use when viewing this link.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you are viewing work-related pages, your work profile would be used, whereas if you switch to watching Netflix, the browser would automatically suggest that you switch to using your personal profile.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Automatic Profile Switching, Microsoft Edge opens the link in the correct profile saving you the time and hassle of re-entering credentials,&#8221; said Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Links that need work credentials open in your work profile, and links that need personal credentials open in your personal profile\u2014it\u2019s that simple and is available now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Automatic profile switching is available within the new &#8216;Multiple profile preferences&#8217; sub-section of the Profiles page within Settings.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Other features<\/h3>\n<p>Microsoft is also adding new PDF-related features to the browser, including the ability to listen to PDF files, as well as new file editing features.<\/p>\n<p>Translations within Microsoft Edge are also being improved, with support for 54 languages now available.<\/p>\n<p>Mobile users on both Android and iOS will also get access to the popular Collections feature, which was previously exclusive to the desktop version of the browser.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCollections allows you to easily collect and organize content from across the web,&#8221;
