{"id":36392,"date":"2011-10-19T09:21:10","date_gmt":"2011-10-19T07:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=36392"},"modified":"2011-10-19T09:22:53","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T07:22:53","slug":"iphone-4s-uses-samsung-core","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/36392-iphone-4s-uses-samsung-core.html","title":{"rendered":"iPhone 4S uses Samsung core"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to a report by <a title=\"Chipworks\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/374028-Chipworks\">Chipworks<\/a>, a firm that specialises in reverse engineering and patent infringement analysis of semiconductors and electronic systems, the A5 chip found in the iPhone 4S is made by <a title=\"Samsung\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/333656-Samsung\">Samsung<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The A5 chip found in the iPhone 4S is a 45-nanometre dual-core part, and is nearly identical to the one found in the iPad 2.<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342717-Apple-inc\">Apple<\/a>-branded A5 is a system-on-chip (SoC) that includes the main processor, graphics section and system memory.
