Vodacom\u2019s<\/a> head of digital media, Prins Mhlanga<\/a>, has confirmed that the network operator will no longer run the DStv Select bouquets and that subscribers on either of the packages will be migrated to MultiChoice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis move will be seamless for existing customers who will continue to have exactly the same commercial terms as before subject to specific billing cycles,\u201d Mhlanga said.<\/p>\n

Before customers are moved they will be contacted individually, Mhlanga said, explaining that subscribers would be presented with all the MultiChoice pay-TV offerings and will be able to continue with DStv Select or choose any of the other available options.<\/p>\n

Mhlanga said that there will be no changes to the DStv mobile streaming or DVB-H offerings.<\/p>\n

Vodacom entered the broadcasting and multimedia game in 2007 with two satellite pay-TV packages<\/a>, now called DStv Select 1 and DStv Select 2.<\/p>\n

Just over four years later, Vodacom has handed over the reins of the product to MultiChoice.<\/p>\n

In a statement provided to MyBroadband, both companies said that the reason for the migration is \u201cto provide a streamlined and seamless service to customers.\u201d<\/p>\n

DStv Select subscribers will continue to receive the DStv Select bouquet as usual, MultiChoice said, adding that their channel line-up and subscription fees will not be affected.<\/p>\n
