Neotel recently released the prices for their NeoConnect Prime consumer offering. This service provides consumers with 10 GB of monthly data usage at speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps, 1 000 free on-net minutes and 50 free on-net SMSs for R 599.00 per month. Neotel said that they will also launch lower priced offerings, one of which appears to be called NeoConnect Lite. The tariffs for this package recently become public.<\/p>\n
The NeoConnect 2G offering – providing consumers with 2 GB of data usage at speeds of up to 156 Kbps, 500 free on-net voice minutes, 25 free on-net SMSs and the device – costs R299.00 per month.<\/p>\n
Its NeoConnect Unlimited offering – offering consumers unlimited data usage at speeds of up to 156 Kbps, 1000 free on-net voice minutes, 50 free on-net SMSs and the device – is priced at R 469.00 per month.<\/p>\n
These tariffs are significantly lower than any current service in the market. Companies like iBurst will find it tough to match Neotel’s offer and may have to go on the defensive to explain what their value proposition is.<\/p>\n
Neotel has also implemented a ‘best of both worlds’ payment structure where users take out a 24 month contract for monthly device repayments, but the contract can be cancelled at any stage. Once the contact is cancelled the user will only be liable for the device payment.<\/p>\n
Neotel said that they will further introduce more NeoConnect Prime packages – both above and below 10 GB of monthly usage – at the formal announcement in May.<\/p>\n
