which includes a new logo, default chat colour and new chat themes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The new look reflects a shift to the future of messaging \u2013 a more dynamic, fun and integrated way to hang out with your favourite people, on your favourite apps and devices,&#8221; the company said in a blog post.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook said it would also be adding features like selfie stickers and vanish mode soon, the latter of which will allow users to send private messages that won&#8217;t remain in any chat history.<\/p>\n<p>Similar to Snapchat, this will let users share text, photos, or videos that will disappear once they exit the app or return to regular messaging.<\/p>\n<p>The redesign announcement was accompanied by a trailer which showcased some of Messenger&#8217;s recently added features &#8211; such as its Watch Together viewing parties and dark mode.<\/p>\n<p>The video can be viewed below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fmessenger%2Fvideos%2F351162116206270%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Instagram integration<\/h3>\n<p>Facebook recently announced it was <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/369633-you-can-now-send-messages-between-facebook-and-instagram.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>integrating messaging<\/strong><\/a> across Messenger and Instagram, to allow users on both platforms to communicate with each other.<\/p>\n<p>This feature will initially be rolled out to users in North America.<\/p>\n<p>It will also be bringing a number of Facebook Messenger features to the Instagram DM platform to improve the experience.<\/p>\n<p>These features include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Watch Together \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Enjoy watching videos on Facebook Watch, IGTV, Reels (coming soon), TV shows, movies, and more with friends and family during a video call.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vanish Mode \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Choose a mode where seen messages disappear after they\u2019re seen or when you close the chat.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Selfie Stickers \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Create a series of boomerang stickers with your selfie to use in conversation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chat Colours \u2013<\/strong> Personalise your chats with fun colour gradients.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Custom Emoji Reactions \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Create a shortcut of your favourite emojis to react quickly to messages from friends.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forwarding \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Easily share great content with up to five friends or groups.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Replies \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Respond directly to a specific message in your chat and keep the conversation flowing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Animated Message Effects \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Add visual flair to your message with animated send effects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Message Controls \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Decide who can message you directly, and who can\u2019t message you at all.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced Reporting and Blocking Updates \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Report full conversations in addition to single messages on Instagram, and receive proactive blocking suggestions across Instagram and Messenger when you add your accounts in the new\u00a0Accounts Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Now read: <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/370373-facebook-bans-all-pages-and-groups-linked-to-qanon-conspiracy.html\" rel=\"bookmark\">Facebook bans all pages and groups linked to QAnon conspiracy<\/a><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Facebook has unveiled a redesign of its Messenger app &#8211;
