{"id":373650,"date":"2020-11-02T09:04:52","date_gmt":"2020-11-02T07:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=373650"},"modified":"2020-11-02T09:06:10","modified_gmt":"2020-11-02T07:06:10","slug":"dark-mode-for-facebook-mobile-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/373650-dark-mode-for-facebook-mobile-is-here.html","title":{"rendered":"Dark mode for Facebook mobile is here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Facebook is publicly testing a dark mode for its mobile app, and it is seemingly rolling out to public users, reports <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/facebook-dark-mode-public-testing-191101398.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Engadget<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This new mode is available on both Android and iOS, and can be accessed by navigating to Settings and Privacy under the Menu tab.<\/p>\n<p>Users can then choose whether to enable the feature or not, or they can leave it up to their operating system settings to decide.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if your operating system is set to switch to dark mode at night time, you can set the Facebook app to follow this lead.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook&#8217;s Messenger app has had dark mode since 2019, while desktop users of Facebook have been able to use dark mode since March 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Dark mode for the Facebook App has therefore been a widely requested feature, and Engadget speculated that the long wait could be because the app is used by billions of people, meaning a bad rollout would be disastrous for the company.<\/p>\n<p>See how dark mode looks in the video below.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Facebook is publicly testing Dark Mode!
