Numerous South African broadband users have been experiencing slow Internet speeds and intermittent connectivity issues over the past few days.<\/p>\n
Web Africa\u2019s<\/a> subscribers were experiencing international connectivity issues which the company said was caused by a break at the landing station for SAT3<\/a> in Portugal. \u201cThe fault on SAT3 has been identified 180km’s from Goonhilly,\u201d the ISP said.<\/p>\n Web Africa said today (2 November 2011) that they have successfully allocated extra capacity over their secondary links and that their subscribers should not be experiencing problems any longer.<\/p>\n The cable is expected to be fully operational again tonight. \u201cA cable laying ship, Wave Sentinal, has already landed in Brest, France. The arrival time over the faulty section of cable is expected at 23:30 UTC. We’re hoping to see the cable to be fully operational again later tonight (2nd November) depending on weather conditions,\u201d Web Africa said.<\/p>\n Numerous Afrihost<\/a> clients have also complained about connectivity problems.
