The tremendous violence of the game meant that it received an AO rating in the United States and it was banned in the United Kingdom and Ireland.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Since receiving these ratings, Take-Two has temporarily suspended the planned July 10 launch of the game for both Sony Playstation and the Nintendo Wii.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">This leaves Rockstar Games and Take-Two with the options of pulling the plug on the game, going back to the drawing board to lower its violence or appeal to the ESRB board.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">According to the Associated Press, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. said that it needed time to &quot;review its options&quot; but would &quot;continue to stand behind this extraordinary game.&quot; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">AP quoted the company as saying that, &quot;We believe in freedom of creative expression, as well as responsible marketing, both of which are essential to our business of making great entertainment.&rdquo;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Rockstar Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, is no stranger to gaming controversy and previously came under fire for one of its other creations &lsquo;Grand Theft Auto&rsquo;.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=79018\">Comments<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Take-Two Interactive Software has temporarily pulled the plug on its July 10 launch of Manhunt 2 for the Wii and PS2 after both Nintendo and Sony said that they won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t allow adult rated games on their consoles.
