We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Information from <a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.co.za\/status\/vodacom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>DownDetector<\/strong><\/a> shows that the problems began at around 14:30 on Monday and were still increasing at the time of writing.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom subscribers across the country are complaining about data connectivity issues, and user feedback suggests that other mobile services are also affected.<\/p>\n<p>56% of DownDetector reports cite mobile phone problems, 30% say they have no mobile Internet, and 13% state that they are experiencing a total blackout of services.<\/p>\n<p>Many Vodacom subscribers took to social media to complain about the operator\u2019s network problems.<\/p>\n<p>This follows after Vodacom experienced <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/375676-vodacom-hit-by-network-problems.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>similar network downtime<\/strong><\/a> on 13 November &#8211; with many users complaining of a similar loss of connectivity around the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs Vodacom at again?! I have no network\u201d a Vodacom subscriber <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PhathuMakwarela\/status\/1330863506216931328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>said on Twitter.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo service on several Vodacom devices in our offices located in the Menlyn area, Pretoria. Is there a problem?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/daBeet\/status\/1330866561435963392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>asked another Twitter user<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In one case, a Vodacom user said that his SIM reflected the &#8220;Emergency calls only&#8221; label, with no Vodacom mobile services accessible at all.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Vodacom working on the problem<\/h3>\n<p>MyBroadband asked Vodacom for comment on the network outage.<\/p>\n<p>The operator said it was aware of the problem and that it was working to restore services as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Update &#8211; 17:12 on Monday<\/h3>\n<p>Vodacom has resolved the problem, the company said in an updated statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVodacom has identified and remedied a fault with a core network element at one of our sites, that impacted data connectivity to certain customers,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Impacted services are currently being restored.
