The company has, however, decided that the Xtreme brand has become too generic and didn't address specific market sectors.

The new range is designed for the home, home-office, professional and gaming markets.

The home market range, called the Prelude, includes a range of sub-brands catering for home users from education needs to family gaming and multimedia.

The Symphony range is aimed at the Home Office PC market while the Proficient range is designed for the corporate and professional market.

The Graphite and Graphite Cosmos range are designed for the gaming community with the Cosmos being labelled a "state of the art" gaming PC.

The company says that "the various Mecer desktop ranges are now clearly distinguishable from each other, and identifiable by a different case for each range. While each range comprises a number of pre-configured models, flexibility will still be available in terms of hardware and software configurations to satisfy extraordinary end-user specifications".

Mecer is also rebranding its server range as the Omega range and its laptops as Xpression.

Mecer PC discussion

[15

post-3778","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-hardware
