{"id":38767,"date":"2011-11-24T08:07:21","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T06:07:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=38767"},"modified":"2011-11-24T09:41:08","modified_gmt":"2011-11-24T07:41:08","slug":"ec-amendment-bill-withdrawn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/38767-ec-amendment-bill-withdrawn.html","title":{"rendered":"EC amendment bill withdrawn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"Department of Communications (DoC)\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/289205-DoC-Department-of-Communications\">Department of Communications<\/a> today (24 November 2011) announced that they have withdrawn the Electronic Communications (EC) Amendment Bill with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>The DoC published the Electronic Communications (EC) Amendment Bill for public comment on 04 November 2011, but in a press statement the department said that further consultation was needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Department wishes to withdraw the EC Amendment Bill with immediate effect.
