Naspers<\/a> released its interim results at the end of November 2011 and it showed that its satellite pay TV subsidiary MultiChoice<\/a> saw 17% year-over-year DStv subscriber growth.<\/p>\n

According to Naspers\u2019 report, DStv’s subscriber base grew by 15% in South Africa which translates to an addition of 484,000\u00a0DStv<\/a>\u00a0SA subscribers between 1 October 2010 and 30 September 2011.<\/p>\n

Naspers also reported that DStv\u2019s push video on-demand product, BoxOffice, had a good start with 26% of PVRs registered for the service in 3 months.<\/p>\n

TopTV CEO\u00a0Vino Govender<\/a>\u00a0recently revealed that the satellite pay TV contender recorded 300,000 subscribers at the start of November 2011.<\/p>\n

This is quite a significant jump from the end of December 2010, when\u00a0TopTV said it had reached 200,000 subscribers<\/a>, of which 50,000 had signed up in December alone.<\/p>\n
