{"id":40127,"date":"2011-12-19T22:15:51","date_gmt":"2011-12-19T20:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=40127"},"modified":"2011-12-20T17:08:44","modified_gmt":"2011-12-20T15:08:44","slug":"vodacoms-iphone-4s-delivery-failure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/40127-vodacoms-iphone-4s-delivery-failure.html","title":{"rendered":"Vodacom\u2019s iPhone 4S delivery failure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It appears that the problem behind scores of <a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227063-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a> customers failing to receive their iPhone4Ss on Saturday can be attributed to a breakdown in communication.<\/p>\n<p>Customers were told to expect direct deliveries of their phones between 7am-12pm but this did not happen.<\/p>\n<p>Ram\u2019s national customer service manager, <a title=\"Lulu Pretorius\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/390743-Lulu-Pretorius\">Lulu Pretorius<\/a> told <em>Moneyweb<\/em> \u201cthere was an issue with the Vodacom direct orders that had to go to specific clients\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened was, we had all the dealers and franchisers marked to go out and delivered, they didn\u2019t specify any Vodacom direct orders to go out, so I got this list this morning and I am working off it\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Nomsa Thusi\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/353286-Nomsa-Thusi\">Nomsa\u00a0Thusi<\/a>, executive head of corporate communications at\u00a0Vodacom, said the problem affected all customers who were expecting direct deliveries, asked how many customers were affected she said those numbers could not be disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>However after a complaint by the author of this article on <a title=\"Twitter\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/359584-Twitter\">twitter<\/a> about the non-delivery of her phone, she received the following response:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We apologise for the delay.We had 5000 pre-registrations and we won&#8217;t be able to get all the deliveries done today&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Asked for an official comment Thusi<em> said \u201c<\/em>We\u2019re really sorry for the frustration you experienced on Saturday \u2013 it\u2019s not the kind of service level that we aspire to.\u00a0 As discussed, the delivery on Saturday was not as seamless as we would have wanted it to be due to a miscommunication at our warehouse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom delivered the phones on Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>5000 pre-registrations and several irate customers<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":288414,"featured_media":33730,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_sma_x_autopost_status":"idle","_sma_x_autopost_error":"","_sma_x_post_id":"","_sma_facebook_post_id":"","_sma_instagram_post_id":"","_sma_threads_post_id":"","_sma_x_attempts":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[605,35,5170,927,41],"class_list":["post-40127","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cellular","tag-apple","tag-headline","tag-iphone-4s","tag-nomsa-thusi","tag-vodacom"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/40127"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/288414"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=40127"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/40127\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":40129,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/40127\/revisions\/40129"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/33730"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=40127"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=40127"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=40127"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
