{"id":40179,"date":"2011-12-21T12:00:41","date_gmt":"2011-12-21T10:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=40179"},"modified":"2011-12-21T12:05:59","modified_gmt":"2011-12-21T10:05:59","slug":"google-remains-default-firefox-search-engine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/40179-google-remains-default-firefox-search-engine.html","title":{"rendered":"Google remains default Firefox search engine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Mozilla Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342687-Mozilla-Foundation\">Mozilla<\/a> on Tuesday said that it has renewed a deal making <a title=\"Google\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314567-Google\">Google<\/a> the default search engine in the nonprofit organization&#8217;s open-source <a title=\"Firefox\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/220755-Firefox\">Firefox<\/a> Web browsing software.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re pleased to announce that we have negotiated a significant and mutually beneficial revenue agreement with Google,&#8221; Mozilla chief executive <a title=\"Gary Kovacs\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/391003-Gary-Kovacs\">Gary Kovacs<\/a> said in a release.<\/p>\n<p>Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
