Prizes include R50,000, a <a title=\"BlackBerry\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342709-BlackBerry\">BlackBerry<\/a> Torch smartphone, and R200 Vodacom airtime.<\/p>\n<p>The message leaves a ticket number for the recipient, and asks them to provide contact details to the \u201cPromo Department\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The SMS also mentions that communication will be done via email for \u201csecurity reasons\u201d, which should send off warning bells right away.<\/p>\n<p>The scam SMS appears below in full:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Congratulations!!!! Your number was among the lucky winners on Vodacom International New Yearly Promo. You have won R50,000,and a New Black Berry Torch,plus R200 Vodacom Airtime.Your Ticket No Is: VDC2119F : To claim your prize,kindly send your name and your cell phone number via e-mail to our Promo Department at (vodacomprize@vodamail.co.za) then we will get back to you,please note;every conversation or communication will be done via e-mail for security reasons.We look forward to hear from you ,thanks.
