{"id":407004,"date":"2021-07-22T09:17:35","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T07:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=407004"},"modified":"2021-07-22T09:23:52","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T07:23:52","slug":"big-new-zoom-features-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/it-services\/407004-big-new-zoom-features-launched.html","title":{"rendered":"Big new Zoom features launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Video conferencing app Zoom has launched a new <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/docs\/en-us\/zoom-apps.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoom Apps<\/a><\/strong> feature\u00a0and a new platform for hosting virtual events.<\/p>\n<p>Zoom Apps adds support for third-party apps within Zoom Meetings and the desktop version of the platform.<\/p>\n<p>This allows users to better collaborate or share experiences within the same app while participating in a meeting.<\/p>\n<p>There are already more than 50 Zoom apps that can be used, with more to be added.<\/p>\n<p>These are now available alongside the third-party integrations on the Zoom App Marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>The library consists of apps for enterprise and consumer use-cases, including whiteboarding, project management, note-taking, and video games.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the apps available include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Asana<\/strong> \u2014 Let users create in-meeting action items and next steps to move forward with plans with greater clarity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dropbox Spaces<\/strong> \u2014 Provides a single shared workspace for collaboration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dot Collector<\/strong> \u2014 Real-time feedback and polling app, allowing you to gather meaningful insights from colleagues.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funtivity<\/strong> \u2014 Offers activities and content for team building, conference breakouts, cultural events, and more.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kahoot<\/strong> \u2014 Allows you to host and join interactive learning games and presentations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To add apps to your Zoom experience, you must select the Apps tab on the latest version of the desktop client or the toolbar in Zoom Meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Companies can control how Zoom Apps can be used among their workers and require pre-approval through admin settings available to IT administrators.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-407008 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Zoom-Apps.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Zoom-Apps.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Zoom-Apps-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Zoom-Apps-640x426.jpg 640w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Zoom-Apps-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second major addition to Zoom&#8217;s portfolio is the Zoom Events platform, which allows companies to create better hybrid and virtual event experiences using Zoom&#8217;s video and chat technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Zoom Events enables large and small businesses alike to seamlessly manage and host back-to-back event sessions from sales summits, customer events, trade shows, and internal events,&#8221;
