MyBB: What are you most excited about for the next 12 months?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: Android<\/a>, Apple<\/a>, Windows<\/a> 8 and BlackBerry<\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What will drive the technology and telecommunications sector in Africa in the near-to-mid future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: Making smartphones affordable.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: Are there any specific areas of growth you are targeting in the mid-future? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: Conversion to smartphones.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: Will we see a new disruptive innovation in 2012?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: LTE <\/a>over the next 2-3 years.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What challenges do you face under the current economic climate? How does management change?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: Consumers are stretched – we need to offer them better value for money.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What margins are you working on?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: Never as high as I’d like.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What customer growth are you aiming for in 2012?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: 20-30%.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: Social media \u2013 yes or no?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: Yes.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What is your business passion? What excites you most, what gets you out of bed in the morning?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: <\/em>Our industry and everything about it. The way it’s changing lives and lifestyles. It’s exciting – fast changing and fast paced.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: Did Santa spoil you with any new tech gadgets over Christmas?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: <\/em>iPhone 4S, Apple TV, Mede8er HD Multimedia Player.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What is your industry bugbear?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: <\/em>It used to be high interconnect rates, but they’re now coming down. More current bugbears include the delays in awarding WiMAX\/LTE spectrum, delays in local loop unbundling, the continued high international data pricing (although this had been improving with increased offshore cable connectivity) and the slow migration to DDT.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: Any favourite apps in your library?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey: <\/em>Twitter<\/a>, Speedtest, Zinio.<\/em><\/p>\n

MyBB: What is your biggest challenge, what keeps you awake at night?<\/strong><\/p>\n
