{"id":4136,"date":"2008-06-14T10:17:00","date_gmt":"2008-06-14T08:17:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-06-14T10:17:00","modified_gmt":"2008-06-14T08:17:00","slug":"sabc-board-under-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/4136-sabc-board-under-fire.html","title":{"rendered":"SABC Board under fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Calls for the resignation of the SABC&#8217;s board were reiterated on Friday as it suspended its group chief executive officer Dali Mpofu &#8211; again. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;The SABC board must step down,&quot; the corporation&#8217;s senior management forum said at the national broadcaster&#8217;s offices in Auckland Park. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;On Tuesday we will demand a meeting with President Thabo Mbeki as we want him to address this matter. We feel helpless and the SABC is going down,&quot; said SMF member Sipho Sithole, who is the SABC&#8217;s head of group management and strategy. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Johannesburg High Court upheld a ruling finding that Mpofu&#8217;s suspension was unlawful and that he be reinstated. However, the board suspended him again on Friday. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;The board suspended Mpofu on the same terms as last time. Enough is enough.
