{"id":414312,"date":"2021-09-15T17:21:27","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T15:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=414312"},"modified":"2021-09-15T17:28:18","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T15:28:18","slug":"cell-c-cutting-off-virgin-mobile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/414312-cell-c-cutting-off-virgin-mobile.html","title":{"rendered":"Cell C cutting off Virgin Mobile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cell C has informed MyBroadband that it will be cutting off network services to mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Virgin Mobile starting from Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Please be advised that Cell C will be terminating the provision of network services to Virgin Mobile South Africa from 17:00 this evening, in a phased approach.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The operator said the cutoff would be done in a phased manner over three days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Firstly, data connectivity will be terminated from today at 17:00, followed by voice services at 17:00 tomorrow (Thursday 16 September 2021), and SMS services at 17:00 on Friday (17 September).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;This phased approach ensures that consumers have time to secure new connectivity services,&#8221; Cell C said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The operator said it was committed and ready to continue to provide connectivity to Virgin Mobile subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Cell C launched <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/industrynews\/413390-virgin-mobile-subscribers-can-switch-to-the-network-that-is-bringing-change.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>several offers<\/strong><\/a> to the estimated 15,000 Virgin Mobile subscribers that will need to migrate to other service providers to stay connected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;A number of offers have been packaged and are open to all consumers, for the next 14 days exclusively via Cell C\u2019s website, without any credit checks, contracts, or extended commitments.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Time to make a Change&#8221;
