{"id":416228,"date":"2021-09-29T11:48:14","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T09:48:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=416228"},"modified":"2021-09-29T11:49:07","modified_gmt":"2021-09-29T09:49:07","slug":"ipad-mini-scrolling-issue-wont-be-fixed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gadgets\/416228-ipad-mini-scrolling-issue-wont-be-fixed.html","title":{"rendered":"iPad Mini scrolling issue won&#8217;t be fixed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple has responded to complaints of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gadgets\/416118-new-ipad-mini-has-a-scrolling-problem.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cJelly Scroll\u201d issue<\/a><\/strong> experienced by users of the latest iPad Mini, saying it is typical LCD behaviour and doesn\u2019t need to be corrected.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2021\/09\/2021-ipad-mini-suffers-from-uneven-jelly-scrolling-in-portrait-mode\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apple told Ars Technica<\/a><\/strong> that these displays refresh line-by-line, creating a slight delay between when the lines at the top and bottom of the screen are refreshed.<\/p>\n<p>This behaviour can make it seem like one side of the display is lagging behind the other \u2014 evident on the 6th generation of the iPad Mini while scrolling in portrait mode.<\/p>\n<p>The latest iPad Mini features an LCD screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, and Ars Technica has confirmed that the effect is not evident on other 60Hz LCD iPads.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Haven&#8217;t seen if anybody else reported this but I see when scrolling in portrait mode with a lot of text on the screen there is a small amount of jelly scroll, where one side moves faster than the other.
