{"id":4203,"date":"2008-06-20T10:54:00","date_gmt":"2008-06-20T08:54:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-06-20T10:54:00","modified_gmt":"2008-06-20T08:54:00","slug":"high-usage-adsl-accounts-getting-cheaper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/4203-high-usage-adsl-accounts-getting-cheaper.html","title":{"rendered":"High usage ADSL accounts getting cheaper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Neotel&rsquo;s launch of their 10GB, 15GB and uncapped NeoConnect Prime offerings signaled a change in the local Internet market where user may no longer be content with very low monthly usage limits.<\/p>\n<p>Currently most large ISPs still punt 1GB, 2GB and 3GB monthly accounts, but there is an increase in more affordable higher-usage ADSL accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Local accounts with 10 GB or higher bandwidth allowances have been available for some time already, with SAOL&rsquo;s &ldquo;ADSL 384k 1Gig All-in-1 with 20Gig Local&rdquo; offering for R138 per month leading the value-for-money drive.<\/p>\n<p>More recently accounts allowing for higher international traffic are also starting emerging.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>OpenWeb has launched what it calls &ldquo;the lowest cost 10GB international account in South Africa&rdquo;:&nbsp; a 512k VPN-based product allowing for 10GB of international traffic at R349 a month.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>&ldquo;The account allows for both local and international ADSL bandwidth, running over a VPN connection to the OpenWeb backbone.
