15.1 riddled with bugs and security flaws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple released its iOS 15.1 software update on Monday, 25 October 2021, adding features such as SharePlay in FaceTime and ProRes video, but iPhone owners have begun to notice bugs.<\/p>\n<p>iOS 15.1 has introduced some new glitches to the mobile software \u2014 including periods of unresponsive interfaces and battery life problems \u2014 while failing to correct two zero-day vulnerabilities, ZDNet <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/ios-15-1-the-bugs-are-back\/\">reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Security researcher Denis Tokarev publicised the company\u2019s failure to patch the bugs, which can allow apps like Facebook and TikTok to track and profile iOS users without their permission.<\/p>\n<p>According to ZDNet&#8217;s report, iOS 15.1 users have also been experiencing general lag in the user interface and popping sounds when using Bluetooth headsets including Apple AirPods Pro.<\/p>\n<p>The report also described a significant glitch in the \u201cUnlock with Apple Watch\u201d feature that was previously <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gadgets\/415908-apple-to-fix-unlock-with-apple-watch-on-iphone-13.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not working<\/a><\/strong> in the original build of iOS 15.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">These two 0-day vulnerabilities are still unpatched in iOS 15.1 and allow spyware apps like <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Facebook?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tiktok_us?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@tiktok_us<\/a> to track and profile you and to acquire sensitive data without your permission.<a directly at the smartphone.<\/p>\n<p>ZDNet reported that it found, on one occasion, that Unlock with Apple Watch could even unlock the iPhone while it was pocketed.<\/p>\n<p>Apple initially <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/414218-ios-15-launch-date-revealed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released iOS 15<\/a><\/strong> on 20 September 2021 without several features, including SharePlay in FaceTime and ProRes video on iPhone 13 and Pro Max devices.<\/p>\n<p>When the Cupertino-based company first released the iPhone 13, reports of the \u201cUnlock with Apple Watch\u201d feature not working started to materialise.<\/p>\n<p>The company was able to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gadgets\/416272-apple-fixes-unlock-with-apple-watch-bug.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fix the issue<\/a><\/strong> in a beta version of iOS 15.1,
